Do you make a point of brushing your little one’s teeth twice a day? Naturally, brushing is important, but did you know that the toothbrush and toothpaste you use are important? In fact, there are a few things you need to know if you’re hoping to help your child keep their teeth as healthy as you can.

Naturally, you’ll need to choose a toothbrush with soft bristles. Sadly, brushing too hard, or using a brush with hard bristles, can actually damage your child’s teeth. Similarly, we suggest picking a brush with rounded bristles. Conversely, please note that your children won’t be able to brush their teeth on their own until they’re about five years old. However, they may also need supervision until they’re able to clean their teeth effectively on their own. Finally, please remember that you should also buy your child a brush that fits well in their mouth. If the head of the brush is too large, it might be difficult to navigate when you brush their teeth.

Finally, when you need to buy new toothpaste, please remember that flavor may be more important than most other considerations. Still, it’s important that you choose a toothpaste that doesn’t have fluoride in it because fluoride shouldn’t be swallowed.
