Do you know what you can do to deal with sensitive teeth? While you may think there isn’t anything you can do to prevent or reverse sensitivity, there are a few things you could consider doing. To make matters even better, you may be able to protect yourself from tooth decay by avoiding certain foods. Additionally, our team may be able to offer you a few suggestions.

The simplest thing to do is avoid foods that are too hot or too cold. Fortunately, if you simply avoid hot foods, or let your food cool down, you can usually avoid discomfort. Similarly, you should consider staying away from cold and frozen foods. Sugary foods, highly acid foods, and spicy foods could all cause discomfort. More specifically, you may want to avoid foods and drinks issues such as apples, wine, pineapples, soft drinks and grapefruit.

Do you know what you can do to avoid or reverse sensitive teeth? If you visit our dentist once every six months we can help you prevent—and if necessary, reverse—the issue. We recommend brushing twice a day for two minutes at a time and flossing daily. You might also be able to fight off tooth sensitivity by using over-the-counter, desensitizing toothpaste.

Additionally, our team can also offer you more specific advice.
